This work reflects my interest in both still life, and abstraction. I have approached flowers with one focus. : Where is the edge of abstraction? For these compositions the edge is the point at which color, line, and form move past recognition. The second driver was my desire to fill my studio with objects, and colors which felt cheerful. Flowers are an endless source of joy. They brighten even the darkest gloom. And their forms offer a vast array of choices. . .
I'VE BEEN PAINTING,TEACHING,AND, CURATING IN MARIN FOR THIRTY YEARS. I LOVE WHAT I DO, AND FEEL VERY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO PURSUE THIS LIFE OF CREATIVITY.
