Mill Valley, CA
My paintings of aerial landscapes were inspired by a simple change in perspective. Driving through expanses of farmland in America, the landscape appears as endless, orderly rows of crops and plowed fields. But from above, satellite images reveal a spectacle of color, pattern, and complexity. We are reminded of the powerful impact people make on our world.
I maintain a studio in Mill Valley, where I've been living and working since 2000. Born and raised in Nebraska, and left for San Francisco after graduating from college. I've been studying and making art my entire life--and received a degree in Fine Arts at College of Marin in 2007. My paintings range from abstracted aerial landscapes of American farmland to idiosyncratic still lifes.
