Now that digital cameras can take a 'perfect picture' - except for the composition and subject matter, I decided to use 19th century Wet Plate Collodion photographic process that doesn't yield that digital 'perfect image' look. The process can be challenging, however, the outcome is unique and gratifyingly imperfect. The 4 x 5 "Tintype" plates are scanned, enlarged and printed on archival paper with pigment ink.
